Stellar Nurseries

seeking warmth
at the top of a mountain
she listened to an
astronomer describe
how nebulae
give birth to stars.

why! they're stellar nurseries,
she exclaimed excitedly to herself.

and she smiled
to think that up there
in the cosmos
little nurseries held
even littler stars,
that cooed with
promise of
twinkling and shining
one day.
