Tie-Dye & Perfume

"i'm searching for
something new,"
she told the perfumer.
"something fresh but musky
and a tad mysterious," she added.

the perfumer smiled.
"come with me," she said.
"i think i know what
you're after."

and she spent the next half hour
introducing her to the most intriguing scents.
"try this one," she suggested.
"it's like tie-dying your
skin with fragrance."

and she smiled to herself
thinking how fun it would
be to touch ribbons of her
skin with a new perfume,

but leave other
parts untouched,

subtly inviting
someone else to
figure out the difference.
